RS800 Training Weekend 2024

EVENT INFORMATION:
Saturday 13th April - Open Training
  • Great coaches lined up for a full day of top coaching - Simon Hall, Ben Bradley, Tom Morris and Guy Filmore
  • Two ability groups - a beginners and an intermediate group. Note there is no expectations in terms of ability, and our coaches will be happy to jump into boats to help out!
  • Be prepared for lunch on the water
  • Timings: 10am morning briefing, rigged but not changed
  • Complete the following Google Form here so your coaches can best help you out
  • Limited to 12 boats on a first-come-first-served basis, so get your entry in fast.  
  • Cost: £55

Sunday 14th April - Sprint Practice Racing
  • Full series of coached sprint racing, aiming for approximately 10 ~15min races or ~2.5hrs of racing
  • Timings: 10am morning briefing for an 11am first start
  • Limited to 16 boats on a first-come-first-served basis, so get your entry in fast  
  • Cost: £40 - buy your ticket here 
  • If tickets sell out please email [email protected] to put your name on the waiting list.  We will then investigate if we can get another coach and RIB!
A few other important bits of info:
  • If you are NOT a HISC member, you will have to pay a day-membership fee. Please liaise directly with the club to pay this. 
  • We will be heading to a local curry house for a great evening of fun and games on Saturday night…  Please sign up here
  • If you would like accommodation at the club on Friday /Saturday night, and /or you are planning on dropping your boat off on Friday night, please contact the club directly.
  • We are holding try-a-boat sessions over the weekend. If you have some friends that might be interested in giving the RS800 a go, please do encourage them to get in touch.
  • Communication prior to and on the day will be predominantly through the group RS800 WhatsApp - if you are not already in the group, please do join here
  • We are looking for volunteers to support our coaches as rib crew on the Sunday - please get in touch if you are willing to help out (or if you know anyone who would be)
  • At least one participant per boat needs to be a member of the RS Class Association or take out one-event membership (can be upgraded to annual membership during the year if required).

ACCOMMODATION:
Hayling Island have onsite accommodation in two blocks, details here.  These rooms get booked up very quickly when there's an event on, so be sure to book early.
