Your Nationals are over so now it's time for your Inlands.  This year your Magic Marine RS400 and RS800 Inland Champs will be held at Grafham Water Sailing Club Sat 8 and Sun 9 Oct 16.

Excellent race management, a great expanse of open water, superb catering team and a warm Grafham welcome make this racing weekend a no brainer!

 

Two days of racing: 3 races per day, racing back to back, one discard after 4 races.

Registration: Sat 0930-1100hrs in the Race Office (upstairs on the second floor above the changing rooms)

Race briefing: 1145hrs in the Downstairs Wet Bar

Sat first race start: 1300hrs

Sun first race start: 1030hrs

Entry fee: £38

Entry fee for GWSC members: £6

The smart RS400 and RS800 perpetual trophies and lovely Old Salt Loft customised merchandise are up for grabs as prizes!  If you are an RS400 sailor click here to see the Old Salt Loft's wares and here if you sale an RS800.  You could add these items to your event entry if you wished by selecting them on the entry form extras.  I will have the Gill polo shirts available to purchase all weekend for £29.

You can enter online by selecting the entry form in the menu to the left of this text.  Please note that online entry will close at 0001hrs on Wed 5 Oct 16 by which time you must have paid your entry fee. Entry and payment after this time will need to be made at registration on Sat 8 Oct and will be subject to a late entry fee of £5.

GWSC members please enter online here so that your name appears on the entry list. You must then pay at registration where you will not be charged a late fee.

In order to alleviate the need to fill in an extra paper form at registration GWSC has agreed that by entering online you have agreed to their club requirements with regards to biosecurity (you are confirming that your boat has been ‘Checked, Cleaned and Dried’ for a minimum of two days prior to arriving at GWSC), medical declaration, agreement to comply with the ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing, RYA Prescriptions and Sailing Instructions, including measurement compliance, licensing laws, GWSC rules, liability and photography permission.  Please contact me if you have any questions.

Please ensure that you read the full GWSC Event Notice and Event Appendix A both of which can be found by selecting their title in the menu to the left of this text.  You must comply with the Check, Clean, Dry procedures in order to prevent the spread of non-native species.

Please note that in accordance with RS Class Association Rules in order to be eligible to race at this event you need to have one member of the RS Class Association in your RS boat.  One event membership costs £10 and can be added to your online entry.  If you upgrade to full membership within this calendar year your one event membership £10 will be taken off the £39 full membership fee. You will need to print off the one event membership form found in the menu to your left and bring it completed and signed to the event registration.  You can take out full membership by going to the title in the menu to the left of this text.

If an under 18 year old is going to be racing in the boat then an under 18 consent form must be completed and handed in at registration.  You can print the form off from here or fill the form in at registration.

 

After a good day's racing settle down for a natter and dine with your RS friends in the bar.

The event Saturday evening meal will be served at 1800hrs in the upstairs bar. The cost is £10 for an adult and £7.50 for a child.  You can buy your meal ticket at registration.  Please note that the food order will close at the end of registration, that is 1100hrs on Sat 8 Oct.  Please let me know when buying the ticket if you have any specific dietary requirements.

Main course choice: Lasagne, garlic bread and salad OR garlic chicken, new potatoes and vegetables OR garlic quorn, new potatoes and vegetables.
Pudding: Chocolate cheesecake or cheesecake.

 

The GWSC catering team in the Downstairs Wet Bar will be ready to offer you bacon butties, sandwiches, cakes, hot and cold drinks throughout the weekend from your arrival early Sat morning until your departure Sun afternoon.

The bar upstairs will be open Sat evening and for the prize giving Sun afternoon.

You can camp or stay in your van or campervan at GWSC.  The cost is £10 to camp in a tent or car and £15 per campervan or van. You must pre-book at the GWSC office and buy your permit in order for the club to meet its planning permission rules.  Contact the GWSC office at: [email protected] or telephone 0845 6442548. The Council has been doing spot checks recently so please do not jeopardise GWSC's ability to offer this facility!
