The Teignouse's Cup is the RS800 fleet's highlighted European event. Your RS800 French rep Gilles Peeters has the event lowdown:
"Organising authority is ASN Quiberon sailing club, very friendly and welcoming atmosphere, and very efficient on the water: experienced with skiff racing and mixed handicap racing.
Location is truly amazing, on the Quiberon peninsula, the club is located on the inside of Quiberon’s bay, and is protected by West and South West windy/swelly forecasts.
The club welcomes sailors ashore with socials and facilities (oysters, free barbecue, sailors meal…), and allows competitors to camp or stay with their campervan on a large grass field facing the sailing area for free! Early arrivals are encouraged to benefit from the dream holiday location.
Competition will gather at least 2 mixed handicap racing groups. (MediumRS500). If attendance is above 60 boats in the fast group, the club will consider creating a third group, where 29er, RS800 and i14 could race together between 25-40 boats.
Even if it’s not a proper RS800 Europeans, this one is a hell of an event, and organising club ASNQ and the French RS800 and other class sailors would be honoured and happy to welcome additional RS800 sailors!"
