RS800 Winter Sailing

Happy New Year to all 800 sailors! To kick start the 2007 season with a bang we�ve organised a bit of winter training before the first big event of the season, the GUL Winter Championships on the 24-25th February 2007. Datchet Water Sailing Club is hosting their annual Winter Warm-up over the weekends of the 10-11th and 17-18th February 2007. The 800 fleet have been invited to attend and if demand is high enough we�ll have our own start! The cost for both weekends of sailing is a steal at �45. While the start time has not yet been confirmed, we�ve been reliably advised that no racing will take place before 12 noon on the 10th. As an extra incentive they�re running a special offer for all 800s whereby for �50 you can take part in both weekends of the winter warm-up and the GUL RS 800 Winter Championships which fall on the 24-25th Feb. This price also includes boat parking for the period surrounding the three weekends and an exclusive 10 % discount at the Dinghy Store for all 800 sailors participating in the event. In addition to all this an informal training weekend has been scheduled for the 27-28th January at Datchet. All boats are requested to be rigged by 10 am and on the water for 11 am on the Saturday. The cost per boat for the whole weekend is a bargain at just �20. Please come well prepared with winter sailing gear and have a think about what you�d like to cover as these sessions will cater for all abilities. As always the club will be providing hot food throughout the day and with their re-vamped club house it�s the perfect spectator platform for friends and family! The more feedback LDC gets from us all, the better so please come along and have a go! Datchet Water Sailing Club have assured us that all boats intending to do this first weekend of training on the 27-28th are welcome to leave their boats within the compound if they plan to take part in the Winter Warm-up and the Winter Champs.
