Class members Sail Testing
Following months of intense development and tuning both on and off the water, and in tandem with the existing sail plan, the proposed new Square Top Main is now ready for class testing before it goes to the international class vote.
RS are proposing that they will provide two boats complete with the new main so that members of the class can see, test and compare the proposed new mainsail to the existing set of sails for their look, feel and taste. Datchet Water Sailing Club has kindly agreed to allow us to use their water and RS800 sailors are invited to join in the Datchet Winter Warmer series which takes place during February.
It would be great if as many class members could come and try the sails as possible so you can all be fully informed prior to voting, not to mention to provide RS with your feedback. We also encourage you to bring down your own boats with existing sails so that there is an on the water comparison.
Call it training, call it testing, call it what you want.... its just good to get folk on the water and blow the cobwebs away. See you all there.
