2016 Calendar Out Now!
Your RS800 Chair Chris Feibusch is thrilled to announce your 2016 calendar here:
2016 is going to be a smashing year of events at great UK clubs all of which have strong home fleets. The Grand Prix circuit will be made up from 7 events. You will need to do 4 events in order to be eligible for the Grand Prix championship title.
New for 2016 is the drive to work with our RS800 European sailors more closely. So a Euro Cup is being launched. The Euro Cup will comprise 4 events: French Open Skiff, Garda, UK Nationals and Medemblik. You will need to do 2 events to be in for a shot at the Euro Cup.
The year starts with a rescheduled Gul Inlands at Grafham WSC 19-20 March following the lack of wind 3-4 Oct 15. Remember each individual sailor who entered and paid for the windless event will receive £5 off their entry to the rescheduled event.
The Stokes Bay skiff open 16-17 April will be the same combination of great sailing and dangerous social, probably involving a rum happy hour and a quirky quiz. Always a goodie.
The Itchenor SC coaching 7-8 May is planned to provide the confidence boost for RS800 sailors to start their open meeting and National championship campaign.
The aim of the Hayling Island SC Open 28-29 May is give visitors some familiarity training in the waters where the Nationals will be held and to help mobilise the home fleet.
The Summer Championship at Lymington Town SC 18-19 June will be a fab weekend of fun multifleet racing and wild shoreside partying. Dig the Hawaiian shirt out for this one!
You're invited to join in the super Nieuwpoort Race Week in Belgium 2-3 July if you fancy.
Garda 25-29 July. Simply the best European sailing for the RS800. No need to say more.
Your Nationals 25-28 Aug at Hayling Island SC is going to be the biggest and best one ever. Watch this space...
We all love Eastbourne SSC and this year's event 17-18 Sept will be the double stacker loading platform for your Medemblik event the following weekend 24-25 Sept.
Who will be defending the RS800 Inlands 2015 title? Join in the battle 1-2 Oct at Grafham WSC.
Last but not least Rutland SC will host the multifleet End of Seasons Championship 5-6 Nov. This will be the final event in the Grand Prix series so there will be some nail biting racing.

So those are the dates you need to stick on the 2016 calendar. Why not keep your RS800 boat handling up to speed by taking part in the 2015/16 GJW Direct SailJuice Winter Series? If there are more than 15 RS800s your results will be extracted and class prizes will be awarded. This year's series will feature Top Class Awards, based on best three results from each each event. There will be a big prize giving and presentation at the RYA Dinghy Show 5-6 March. All the information is here.
Happy RS800 sailing!
Cheers
Chris and Clare
