RS800 Spring Championships (Rooster National Tour 2026)
The first event of the 2026 Rooster National Tour, the RS800 Spring Championships, wrapped up after a fantastic weekend of racing.
Four excellent races were completed on Saturday in steady conditions, followed by two more on Sunday in more challenging breeze.
Liz did an outstanding job as Race Officer across the weekend, ensuring efficient racing with minimal delays and well-set courses that suited the fleet perfectly. The safety team also deserve special recognition, particularly on Sunday. In demanding conditions, their presence on the water was excellent—support was always close at hand whenever needed, which was greatly appreciated. Thank you Queen Mary!
A big thank you to Rooster for sponsoring the prizes, including their Joey water bottle holders, co-designed by former RS800 sailor Emma McEwen.
Results:
🥇 1st – Monique Vennis-Ozanne & Hugh Shone (Sunnydale Gardens) – RS800 #1
🥈 2nd – Bryan Ormond & Anna Ormond (Hayling Island SC) – GBR1234
🥉 3rd – Louis Johnson & Lucy Hewitson (Hayling Island SC) – 1171
