RS800 Survey Results!
Message from RS800 committee member Ben Palmer:
“Thank you to everyone who completed the RS800 class survey. It was extremely useful and will prove insightful to the committee in designing the best RS800-class programme for the sailors.
What did we learn?
- Sailors sail RS800s for the blast, it’s a cool boat to sail!
- The racing is the second most important factor for the RS800s sailors.
- 70% vote to keep Garda every 2 years!
- Good venues were the most mentioned idea to attract people to weekend events.
- Biggest challenge for people to attend events is time and other commitments.
- RS800s are mostly sailed in the South East of the UK with a great growing fleet in France.
- Broad age range of sailors from 25 to 60+ with many of the old hands staying in the class for a long time.
Therefore, what is the RS800 all about?
GREAT VENUES, GREAT SAILING, GREAT FRIENDS
This is what the committee will endeavour to deliver on.”
